Franco’s monument built in the 40’s, to commemorate the site where 40 prisoners were machine-gunned, most of them captured at the beginning of the war in the province of Teruel, in Aragon.
The monument, built with granite, rises between two torrents in the middle of nowhere. It is much deteriorated and lacks most of the iron inscriptions, which made reference to the martyrs.
Due to the new law by the Spanish Government, it could disappeared, as many other references to the Spanish Civil War, making even easier for future generations to forget the horrors of the war.
