Before the explosion on February 1930, at the end of the Spanish Civil War, the village of Llers was divided in two main neighbourhoods: the Barri del Castell, around the castle and the Barri de Sant Sebastià , around the parish church of Sant Julià. Both were connected by the Carrer Major. On the north there was the Barri de Llagostera (not on the map). The houses around the church were built over the ruins of the castles of Bellver, Des Torrent and Cabrera, which were part of the 13 castles of Llers in the past.

The parish church Of Sant Julià, which disappeared completely after the explosion, was enlarged in the 18th C., preserving not much from the original Romanesque style from the 11th C. It was 30 meters long and 15 meters wide, with a belfry 25 meters high.
