The chapel of Sant Onofre is located in a high terrace on the mountain of Saverdera. It is surrounded by old chestnut trees that provide shadow in summer while you admire the great view of the Empordà plain and the bay of Roses can be admire. People from Palau-Saverdera celebrate the festivity of Sant Onofre the second Sunday of May. The actual building is probably from the 17th C. , although the place was first mentioned in 1362 when it was already part of the parish of Palau-Saverdera.
There are two ways to reach the temple, one starts in the west outskirts of Palau-Saverdera climbing up the mountain, the other one much easier, starts on the road from Vilajuïga to the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes.
