The houses built in 1948, during Franco’s regime, were known by the locals as the American houses. The families of these American military, which worked in the Air Base of el Pení (between Cadaqués and Roses) lived in this colony, in the President Kennedy Street, not far from the famous Dali’s Museum. This complex was build using the latest in architecture, including a school, a chapel, a store and a social club with cinema and theatre.
The Americans left the houses in 1964, soon were occupied by Spanish military. They are still used as households.
